Frequently Asked Questions

Derma-Planing

What is Derma-Planing?

Derma-planing is where a surgical scalpel is used to remove all of the dead skin cells, fine fair hair on the surface of the face.

What happens in my Derma-planing appointment?

Ametrine aesthetics offers a very different derma-planing experience. It includes the following.
1/ Skin Analysis: The skin is carefully examined and a bespoke facial, with bespoke facial products is planned.
2/ Double cleanse: The skin is initially cleaned to remove any traces of make up or dirt. The second cleanse penetrates into the deeper skin tissues.
3/ Glycolic acid tone: Glycolic acid is a fundamental acid for skin care. The acid is able to penetrate deeper into the dermis for exceptional results
4/ Exfoliation: The surgical scalpel is used to remove the dead skin cells and peach fuzz.
5/ Ultrasonic extractions (if needed): An ultrasonic spatula is used to remove any excess oils from the skin and open pores.
6/Steam Extractions (if needed): A facial steamer used to open up closed and congested pores, and any blackheads, whiteheads or blocked pores are opened and cleaned.
7/ Professional Peel: The remaining dead skin cells are exfoliated away with a specialist peel. This stage re-ignites the blood supply to the skin as the skin is firmly massaged to remove the dead skin cells.
8/ Hydrojelly mask: A liquid to gel mask is applied specific to your skin concerns. When dried, a jade roller is used to reduce toxins and encourage blood supply to skin.
9/ Prescriptive serums: focused on hydration, acne prone skin, scarring or radiance.
10/ Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating moisturiser: Moisture pumped back into the skin.
11/ Physical SPF: SPF is the number one best product for skin protection. The damage from the sun or UV rays is a leading cause of ageing in facial skin especially.

Micro- Needling

What is Micro-needling?

Microneedling, also called medical needling, collagen induction therapy (CIT) or percutaneous collagen induction (PCI). Microneedling uses multiple fine, sterile needles to puncture the skin with microscopic channels. This controlled injury initiates a skin healing response, resulting in the increased production of collagen and elastin. The end result is thicker, plumper, firmer, smoother skin. Additionally, skincare products are able to penetrate more deeply into the skin, making them more effective.
